Hi Christian,

Fair enough; good distinction.  There's a lot of Constraint Programming 
literature out there, e.g., on applications and on solver design.  I'll dig 
into the application work that seems relevant to Gecode's constraints (the 
kind of info I'm finding useful so far is documents like your 2007 
presentation on channeling constraints [black-hole patience application], 
because it focuses on different options for thinking about solving a problem, 
and how specific constraint types can be used to enable some of those 
options.  I'll search for more like that.

I'll focus in this forum on Gecode-specific questions.
