Hi Guido, all,

I just got the same error on a freshly installed debian system.

The Makefile complained about 'qmake' not being present, so I installed 
that. It then concluded that it can use qt and build gist.
However, I hadn't installed 'libqt4-dev' yet, resulting in the error 
reported by Rick.

Is there a way that the Makefile can check for the presence of the 
development files?
